Before You Visit
Before receiving services with Veterans Affairs, you must first determine your eligibility. Use our eligibility page to make an application for health care benefits.
Eligible veterans should contact the VA Medical Center to schedule an appointment with a primary care provider. Getting an appointment can be done in a number of ways.
If you have an existing appointment and cannot keep it, let us help you change it. This way, we will be able to see another veteran during that time period. Let us help you reschedule or cancel your appointment.
The Minneapolis VA has limited lodging available for patients who live outside the Twin City Metro area and need a place to stay for one night or more. Also, several area hotels offer VA rates to patients and their family members.
If you meet the criteria, you may be eligible for mileage reimbursement or special mode transport in association with obtaining VA health care services.
Travel Pay can be claimed at the Minneapolis VA Medical Center cashier window located on the 1st floor, room 1S-140.
