May 29, 2020: Safety

The Minneapolis VAHCS has taken steps to secure the safety of our Veterans, visitors and staff during the current civil unrest in the Twin Cities area. All gates to the property, with the exception of One Veterans Drive, have been secured and our police force is prepared to protect. We will continue to provide care during this crisis and provide updates to any changes in the local threat level as we receive them.

COVID-19

Veterans who receive care from the Minneapolis VA Health Care System can access VA care from home through the VA Health Chat app. Use VA Health Chat to receive medical advice, refill VA prescriptions, send non-urgent messages to your care team, and more through online chat on your computer, mobile device, or tablet. Learn more: VA Health Chat app

If you have symptoms of a fever, cough or new shortness of breath, call us at 866-414-5058 (toll free) before coming in for your appointment. For other concerns, you may be able to access VA care from home by phone or using VA virtual care options. For more information on COVID-19 see https://www.va.gov/coronavirus/.

April 6, 2020: Prescription Refills

To keep everyone safe during this outbreak Veterans can request a prescription refill by visiting My HealtheVet or calling the Prescription Refill Line at 1-855-560-1721. You will need to have your Social Security and prescription numbers ready for the Prescription Refill Line. Make sure you refill your prescriptions at least 14 days before they are due. For questions, please contact the Minneapolis VA Pharmacy Call Center at 612-467-2090.

March 19, 2020: Changes to MVAHCS Visitor Policy

We care deeply about the safety and well-being of our Veterans, visitors and staff. As a result, there will be no visitors across our health care system, we understand this will be challenging as we understand the benefits and needs of having visitors, we ask that you understand and support us in the decision. Learn more about the updates and any exceptions

March 11, 2020: Screening Points in Effect

To keep Veterans, employees, volunteers and visitors safe, we have set up Coronavirus screening areas at our Medical Center and VA Community Clinics. The Medical Center screening area is located at the Outpatient Entrance. This is an important precautionary measure that will add some time entering the Medical Center. Please plan to arrive early. Learn more about the screening process
