Assistive Technology

The Assistive Technology (AT) Program is part of the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) department. A significant focus is on AT services connected to our inpatientbrain injurystroke and limb loss rehabilitation programs. This inpatient program is CARF accredited.

Assessments and services are also available to other areas of the medical center upon referral from a VA provider. When a patient or provider identifies a need for assistive technology, the AT program helps to provide the right tools to meet the patient’s goals.

Patients are most commonly seen for technology in one or more of the following tracks:

  • Wheel chairs (Wheeled Mobility and Seating)
  • Augmentative and Alternative Communication
  • Assistive Technology for Cognition
  • Environmental Control
  • Computer and Related Tech Access
  • Low Vision and Blindness
  • Recreational Technology
